Last Sunday's “Sendung mit der Maus” was all about facade greening. Right in the middle of it all: our research green façade, the wild climate wall.
How do plants sweat? How can green façades cool our cities? Can they also make the city quieter? How is such a green façade created? These and many other questions were explained in an easy-to-understand way in the TV report and visualized using various experiments and measurements. The filming took place on the wild climate wall on the campus of the Fraunhofer Institute, in the laboratories there and at our practice partner Helix Pflanzensysteme GmbH. There we were given an insight into the production and construction site of a new green façade. It turned out to be a great report for young and old, giving an insight into our work as urban planning physicists.
If you missed the show with the mouse on Sunday, you can watch the entire program in the media library here and the edited report on façade greening here.
