Franziska completed her B.Sc. studies in Life Sciences at Goethe University Frankfurt in 2020 with a focus on aquatic ecotoxicology. She then went on to complete an interdisciplinary Master’s degree in Urban Ecosystem Sciences at the Technical University of Berlin.

For her master's thesis, she investigated the potential of rainwater harvesting on urban rooftops. During her studies, she was working in an urban planning and regional economics office in Berlin.

After graduating her M.Sc. in 2024, she started working in flood risk management at the Brandenburg State Environment Agency.

Since April 2026, Franziska has been working as a research associate and doctoral student at the Institute of Landscape Planning and Ecology (ILPOE) at the University of Stuttgart. Her research focuses on the ecological, social and legal challenges and opportunities of urban green infrastructure in urban densification, conversion and retrofitting of the existing building stock.
