In the context of the Lecture –Introduction to Ecology-, students from the first semester bachelor of Architecture proposed the transformation of pedestrian corridors into green axes that integrate best practices of Urban Ecology.
The exercise took the current plan of the City of Stuttgart –Pedestrian traffic concept 2016- as a base to 1) improve the microclimate on streets by proposing transformation of street profiles, or 2) to create lingering places that invite new animal and plants onto backyards, and 3) also integrate water-cycles as part of a visible infrastructure in our city landscape.
