In the study, we address what people's perceptions and preferences are towards the non-native tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima) in urban environments. The woody plant often occurs on urban sites. In the quantitative survey with closed questions, we analyzed (i) whether residents of Berlin, Germany, were aware of the widespread species, (ii) how they perceived it in different urban situations, (iii) how they perceived different management strategies for it, and (iv) how respondents' sociodemographic background predicted their preference and acceptance ratings.
