Angie teaches in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design.
Angie graduated from the Faculty of Arts at the National University of Colombia in 2019. Being very interested in the geographical and ecological dimension of urban areas, she was a participant and co-leader of the Water+City research group, which explored the relationship between the city and the riparian habitats of Bogotá, as well as the realities and challenges of water-related issues in other Latin American cities. At the same time, Angie wrote her thesis on the structuring and integration potential of an urban wetland in Bogotá.
Since 2019, she has been working as a consultant and research assistant in different planning offices and government institutions, focusing on the implementation of sustainable and inclusive urban strategies, with a special focus on formality and informality in the Colombian context.
As a DAAD scholarship holder, Angie completed her Master's degree in Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design (IUSD) at the University of Stuttgart in 2023 with a thesis entitled 'Urban Biodiversity Valuation and Collective Action for an Urban River in Bogota, Colombia', in which she explored citizens' perspectives on plant biodiversity along an urban river. Angie continues to focus on this area in research and teaching (Integrated Urbanism and Sustainable Design programme) as a teaching member.
