Water: Initiative Neckarinsel

As part of the summer studio "Integrated Research and Design 2: Planning habitats for people and nature" in Stuttgart Münster, our group had the opportunity to visit the district with the longest border to the Neckar on May 24th.

With the support of  Wolfgang Döking, representative of Energy and Mobility from the Bezirksbeirat, we embarked on a journey to explore the historical transformations of Münster in the 1940s and 1960s, particularly the significant road and tram changes. These changes have had a lasting impact on the current layout and distribution of the district.

Later, we moved beyond Münster to visit the Neckarinsel, an initiative that addresses the absence of water-related strategies at a citywide level. Their focus extends beyond the river itself to encompass all water-related topics and the social perception of water, ensuring a comprehensive approach to shaping our future.
