Last Saturday, students from the IRD II Summer Studio 2024 studio joined the Local Initiative Wanderbaumallee Stuttgart in a tree-planting campaign to introduce new "walking trees" to the community. Together with local residents, families, and the initiative team, we planted eight new trees. The students will then take each tree to its summer station, where each team will observe the neighbours' new interactions with the trees over the next two months.
We are excited to be part of this initiative and to see how these trees will temporarily green the streets of Ostheim, creating a new spatial dynamic while providing shelter and habitat for both human and non-human species before they continuing their journey.
